AB ROKIÅ KIO SŪRIS, the largest and most modern dairy processing company in Lithuania, in cooperation with the world’s largest international dairy cooperative FONTERRA, in 2018 for the first time in Lithuania started continuous production of 100% GRIN, WHEY PROTEIN PROTEIN INSOLATE (WPI). The product is manufactured using FONTERRA’s unique technology.
The isolate is purer than whey concentrate because it is filtered for longer. The microfiltration process is a method in which the protein is filtered by ceramic filters (the raw materials are not chemically treated). The additional processing allows the protein concentration in the product to be increased by up to 90% or more. The isolate is therefore lower in carbohydrates and fat and is suitable for dieters.
The isolate is more biologically valuable than the concentrate. Isolate is better suited for pre- and post-workout: it is easier to digest and more quickly absorbed, it is non-allergenic, but it is also slightly more expensive than concentrate. In terms of protein quality, the highest quality whey protein is whey protein isolate, where a serving is more than 90% protein, with fat and lactose around 1%. Whey protein isolate is an extremely clean and pure protein with a very low lactose content.
Athletes who have problems with protein digestion should only consume this type of protein. This product is particularly suitable for people who want to eliminate as much fat as possible from their diet, and the isolate is also very low in lactose, making it suitable for those who are intolerant to even very low levels of lactose in whey concentrate.
Intake: One serving (30 g) contains 27-28 g of muscle-development protein. This product is one of the best sources of branched chain amino acids (BCAA): L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-valine. Add 30 g of protein powder (2 tablespoons) to 150-250 ml of water, skimmed milk, juice, buttermilk or other drink and shake or stir well. Suitable for 1-2-3 times a day.
